Asphalt Cement
We have a long history of supplying asphalt cements.
GIP provides a full range of asphalt cement for paving, emulsion, and expanded asphalt stabilization applications in Ontario and Quebec.
The supply of asphalt cement is a sophisticated undertaking given the large number of and frequent revisions to complex industry specifications.
- Performance Graded Asphalt Cements (PGAC) meeting AASHTO M320
- Ontario and Quebec Provincial Ministry of Transportation Specifications
- Superheated asphalt cement for Expanded Asphalt Stabilization
- Specialty
- Performance Graded Asphalt Cement meeting Multiple Stress Creep Recovery (MSCR) specification AASHTO M332
- Municipal Specifications
- Polymer modified asphalt cement
- Asphalt cement for the production of asphalt emulsions or cutback
On-time delivery is very important to us.
We have a long history of supplying asphalt cements that not only meet the required specifications but also perform well in their intended application. Our customers have paved tens of millions of tonnes of durable asphalt pavement with good cracking performance using our high-quality asphalt cement.
Asphalt Emulsion
Providing a full range of asphalt emulsion products.
GIP provides a full range of asphalt emulsion products for road building and industrial applications throughout Ontario and Quebec.
Did you know that Environment Canada enacted a Low VOC Code of Practice that requires asphalt emulsions and cutback asphalts to meet low VOC criteria? We have developed replacements for high VOC emulsions and cutbacks.
- Track Coat
- Low Tracking Tack Coat
- Surface Treatments
- Granular Sealers
- Cold-In-Place Recycling

- Rejuvenating Emulsions
- Low VOC Emulsions
- Emulsions used in coatings, adhesives, sealants and related products
Technology & Additives
Warm mix technology improves the workability of asphalt.
GIP can dose asphalt cement tanker loads with warm mix additives and adhesion promoters at the Terminal so that customers may benefit from these technologies without additional handling at the asphalt mixing plant.
Warm mix technology improves the workability of asphalt mixes at lower temperatures with the potential to provide numerous benefits.
The Benefits
- Lower carbon footprint, emissions reductions, and fuel savings when mixing at lower temperatures
- Improved compaction properties which facilitates achieving tough compaction specifications extends pavement life (better compacted pavements are less pervious to oxygen and age slower)
- Improved workability
- Extension of the paving season into cooler weather
- Reduction in separation along longitudinal joints
We also supply adhesion promoters to enhance the adhesion between liquid asphalt cement and aggregates in asphalt mixes. Products approved by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and that meet the Quebec Ministry of Transportation (MTQ) specifications are available.
